This Hall County Republican Candidate Forum was well attended on Thursday night by a large group of concerned citizens who came to learn more about the candidates who will be on their ballots in the July 18 Republican Primary.

Above: Brian Sloan and Pamela Graham have announced their candidacy for BOE post 2 to
succeed Lori Thompson. 
They disagree on the speed that changes are being made in the Hall County system.  Every healthy organization is constantly changing," Sloan said. "I believe our school system must accelerate the rate of change. The county is changing faster than the schools." Graham said children should enjoy being children. "I think we are moving fast and sometimes too fast," she said. "We've got to go back to the basics."

District Attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit
(Hall County and Dawson County)

      Lisa Jones, a former assistant District Attorney - E-Mail:
Lee Darragh, incumbent district attorney for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit that includes Hall and Dawson counties, and his opponent Lisa Jones.  Both touted their leadership styles, experience and their support for tough punishment for criminals, including the death penalty.

Jeff Williams has served in the GA House (1994-2002) when he lived in Gwinnett County. Mark Musselwhite was elected to the Gainesville City Council in 2000 and later served as Mayor. Lee Hawkins, a well known Gainesville dentist, has never served in an elected position and is a newcomer to the Republican Party.

Mark Parkman - Candidate for the Public Service Commission. 
Parkman faces Chuck Eaton for the Republican nomination.
The winner faces Democratic incumbent David Burgess for the
Public Service Commission in the November election.
